The abbreviation eIDAS stands for electronic IDentification, Authentication and trust Services. This is EU Regulation No. 910/2014 of the European Parliament. The aim of the eIDAS Regulation is to give electronic transactions a similar legal status to paper transactions. To this end, technical procedures and standards for electronic certificates, seals, time stamps and signatures are defined that allow electronic documents to be sent securely and consistently.
